Welcome to WadeTopia the new interactive guide to the wonderful world of "Whimsies" collectibles.

In 1965 Balding & Mansell released the very first series of Party Crackers called “The Flintstones Party Crackers” to contain a figurine which was included as prizes inside each cracker. Eight different figurines were chosen from the early range of premiums which Wade had produced & one of those early figurines was the Hedgehog.

That was the very first “Whimsies” that I ever owned…..then lost in the garden.

In 1998 these little figurines started to re-enter my life and I began buying them in flea markets to resell on eBay.

Over 13 years later & still on eBay – “Brett Crafts & Collectibles”

I have handled & photographed 10's of 1000's of these charming little figurines which are still made to this day in the UK by Wade Ceramics.

And, as a result have amassed an immense amount of literature, letters, packaging and many other "nuggets” of interesting information.

I have often been asked many questions & found I was repeating a lot of the replies over time. That is how the idea for this site was conceived.

Hopefully, Wadetopia will help you find the information you are looking for either in the picture galleries, reference & specs sections which will be going live over the next few months.

Gallery Terms & Definitions

Below you will find a list of (Terms) which are used throughout the website. Below are the corresponding definitions.

• (Crossover Figurines) - These are figurines that were used in multiple sets, series or promotions & are basically the same colour.
• (Colour Variation) - A figurine that was produced in an unusual unique colour variation(s) for a specific series.
• (HTF Colourway) - A figurine that was produced in a Rare or Hard to Find colour variation, usually for Wade events or Special promotions in a very limited quantity.
• (Unique Colourway/ Test Figurines) - A figurine who's colour was usually a production test or sometime a production error.
